Bloomberg Market Concepts
Completed Bloomberg's core financial markets curriculum — economic indicators, currencies, fixed income, and equities — with working literacy in the Bloomberg Terminal.

What This Is#
Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) is Bloomberg's e-learning curriculum covering the structure and mechanics of global financial markets, taught through the same terminal used on institutional trading desks.
What I Learned#
- Economic indicators — how GDP, inflation, and employment data are produced, revised, and interpreted by markets; why the second derivative of an indicator often matters more than its level.
- Currencies — the drivers of exchange rates, central bank policy transmission, and how currency risk propagates through global portfolios and trade.
- Fixed income — yield curves, duration, credit spreads, and why the bond market is the deepest expression of collective expectations about growth and inflation.
- Equities — valuation frameworks, index construction, sector rotation, and the relationship between earnings expectations and price.
- Terminal literacy — navigating Bloomberg's data, news, and analytics functions, the shared workspace of institutional finance.
Why It Matters#
Markets are the measurement layer of the global economy. BMC established a shared vocabulary with practitioners — the language in which risk is priced and capital is allocated — and the terminal fluency to work with market data directly rather than through summaries.
